Overview

Boise Ortho/ENT med/surg is a fast-paced 35-bed surgical unit caring for post-op orthopedic patients. It is an environment to build strong clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population. Typical RN to patient ratios on this unit are 1:5; for CNAs, the ratios are typically 1:8. This posting is for our Boise Ortho/ENT 5E unit only, full time (0.90 FTE), primarily night shift but day shift may be considered.

ACEN Accredited STAR Nurse Residency Training Program

We offer a year-long STAR Residency Program to support the transition from student nurse to professional nurse. You will build relationships, develop clinical and leadership skills, and grow your network with other new graduates on the same journey.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to post-operative orthopedic and ENT surgical patients in a high-acuity setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Monitor patient status, administer medications, and document care in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with an active license (or graduating no later than Aug. 2026); current or recent graduates from ACEN-accredited programs (ACEN or CCNE) eligible for RN licensure.
  • New graduate RNs welcome; interest in orthopedics and/or ENT surgical care is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights; strong communication and teamwork skills.
