The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is now hiring for a passionate and enthusiastic Medical Assistant Educator to be a part of the Nursing Administration Team!

Position Summary & Highlights:
  • The Medical Assistant Educator will collaborate with Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) Nursing Educators, Unit/Department/Clinic Managers, nurse leaders, and other educators, to provide educational programs with the goal of enhanced clinical practice, professional growth of the staff and the assurance of safe and effective healthcare to patients.

  • We are seeking a team player with a strong work ethic who is passionate about developing others and supporting clinical excellence. The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and enjoys working with a variety of teams and clinic locations.

  • As part of a collaborative Nursing Administration team of ten, the Medical Assistant Educator will contribute to the success of both the education team and the broader ambulatory care organization.

  • This position does require occasional travel to SAMG clinic locations across the Treasure Valley.

What You Will Do:
  • Partner with SAMG Nursing Educators to provide education needs and support for Medical Assistants and Ambulatory Care Aides.

  • Design and facilitate education classes, orientation, onboarding, skills training, and competency validation and development using principles of education and adult learning.

  • Coordinate and support Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) activities.

  • Promote a l earni ng environ ment in a manner that enhances learner’s competence to provide quality healthcare and to enhance clinical skills through group activities, classroom lecture presentations, individual instruction or the general use of role model and mentoring concepts.

  • Integrate research, evidence-based practice, and current literature into educational activities.

  • Facilitate participation in the development, attainment and evaluation ofnurse, Medical Assistant,and other colleagueorientation.

  • Participate in identifying education needs assessment for Patient Care Services and provide focused education to specific units/clinics/departments.

  • Maintain records of educational offerings.

  • Maintain own clinical skills and competence related to clinical practice and staff development.

  • Demonstrate awareness of need for self-growth and pursues personal growth.

  • Coordinate student placements for externships and serve as a resource for learners and clinic teams.

  • Travel to clinic locations across the Treasure Valley as needed .

  • S upport Nursing Administration initiatives and projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Nursing.

An ideal candidate will be/have :
  • S elf-motivated, team-oriented, c ollaborative , flexible, organized and has a n educational/teaching mind set or related experience.

  • A high degree of professionalism , have strong verbal and written communication skills, is able to work independently , and enjoy s collaborati ng with others.

  • Previous training, teaching, or precepting experience.

  • Experience with onboarding, competency validation, or student coordination.

  • Knowledge of ambulatory care workflows and clinical practice.

Work Hours:
  • Approximately 40 hours/week, Mondays – Fridays.

  • This will be further discussed at interview due to the schedule and traveling required for this position.
