This position will remain open until a qualified candidate is selected
The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) currently has an opening for a Certified Nursing Assistant Senior to join our team at the State Veterans Home in Boise.
The ideal candidate will perform personal nursing care for elderly residents to include providing activities of daily living.
We currently have one opening for d for evening shift 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.
Evening shift employees receive a 10% shift differential
Example of Duties- Provides orientation and leadwork to nursing assistants and trainsresidents and families in personal care procedures
- Performs personal nursing care for geriatric residents
- Teaches self-help skills to residents
- Teaches nursing assistants how to implement specific treatment procedures
- Assists with work scheduling and provides input on performance evaluations
- Acts as a liaison between nursing assistants and charge nurses to recommend changes in resident care planning
- Answers call lights to determineresidents needs and provides limited bowel and bladder care
- Takes and records vital signs
- Provides personal hygiene care and lifts, positions, transports, and escorts residents
- Assists with ambulation and other body movements and feedsresidents who require assistance
- Implies individualresident treatment plans as outlined by nursing supervisor and health-care team
- Reports changes in physical and mental status to health-care team and maintains a safe and sanitary resident-care environment.
- Documentsresident care provided in medical record
- Respectfully and safely interacts with residents whomay beconfused, disoriented and therefore occasionally hostile and aggressive
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Experience:
with institutional policies and procedures related to patient care; sanitation and safety requirements for a patient-care facility. - Experience:
teaching self-help skills to patients; taking and recording patients' vital signs; observing and recording changes in patients' behavior and symptoms; understanding and applying basic medical terminology; providing personal hygiene care to patients; assisting patients with ambulation and other body movements. - Certification:
Possession of Nursing Assistant Certification and listed on the Idaho State Nurse Aide Registry.
- Experience providing orientation, training, or skilled instruction to other staff members.
