DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float pool position requiring 2 years of specialty and travel experience along with active ACLS/BLS certification.
Details- Float pool position covering Clinical Support Units (ED, M/S & Tele) across multiple facilities in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa
- May float to any facility in the region within specialty or serve as a 1:1 sitter as needed
- Patient population includes postop, ortho, neuro, satellite tele, medical, and oncology cases, plus ED holds such as CVA/TIA, chest pain, CHF, and abdominal pain
- Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4 for ED holds and 1:5 for Med/Surg
- Nights shift, 7p-7a on a 12-hour schedule
- Every other weekend required
- No self-scheduling; block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed
- First to float, including midshift floating to different units and facilities as needed
- No call or standby requirement
- Uses EPIC EMR
- RNs required to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, cardizem, amio, and nitro
- Charge nurse present on all units with an assistant manager on-call 24/7 for support
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required, /compact license accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
- Experience with cardizem, amio, and nitro required
- ED holds experience preferred
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg, Tele, and ED holds units, including titrating drips and interpreting telemetry independently
- Assigned unit and facility communicated via app approximately 1 hour before shift start
- All facilities are approximately 20 minutes apart with easy highway access and safe parking
- Nurse aides and patient care techs support units at ratios ranging from 1:8 to 1:10 depending on floor and day
- Respiratory therapy available to assist with vent, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow equipment
- Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is clean and professional
- Orientation includes a meet and greet on day 1 followed by 3 shifts of inpatient orientation
- Holiday coverage filled based on need
- Cancellation policy allows up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Permanent employees must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
- Facilities are described as having a strong culture with easy access and parking;
