Position: Quality Assurance Supervisor I (Sunday - Tuesday, Rotate Wednesday 5:15pm - 5:30am) | Caldwell, ID

This position ensures the quality of product and services provided by the company. The role works closely with the QA Manager and the quality staff on key programs such as third‑party audits, regulatory audits, customer audits, departmental goals and objectives (KPIs), and maintains key quality assurance projects and performance indicators, serving as a liaison between quality, operations, and corporate management in the absence of the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure product and service quality by testing products, performing audits, placing defective products on hold, and taking corrective action.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols to ensure product integrity and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify and address quality or safety concerns.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Train and mentor quality assurance staff on quality control procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement quality improvement initiatives and resolve quality‑related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.
  • Keep current with key quality assurance programs and departmental operations by working closely with the Quality Manager.
  • Handle customer complaints, communicate holds and discrepancies with supervisors and other departments; maintain bill of materials, corporate specification system, hold logs, and complete weekly and monthly reports as assigned by the QA Manager.
  • Participate in the execution of the company’s sanitation program.
  • Maintain flexibility to work non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Education/Certifications and

    Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the food manufacturing industry.
    • At least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
    • Experience with quality management systems and tools.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note), and other related applications.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
    • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
    • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.
    • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and monitor performance for a regular group of employees or a work unit, including providing input on hiring, disciplinary actions, and work objectives.
    • Realign work as needed.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
    • Daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and noise.
    • Seasonal exposure to weather elements, including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
    • Physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
    • Ability to sit frequently at a desk, walk around the office and plant; carry packages up to 50 pounds; utilize fine dexterity; reach and kneel daily.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $62,886.00 - $ (actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location).
