Job Title:

QA/QC Specialist – Mechanical Construction Job Description

This project-based QA/QC Specialist role supports large-scale mechanical systems on a semiconductor facility project. You will ensure that mechanical, process piping, and structural fabrications comply with ASME/AWS codes, project specifications, and quality standards. The position focuses on managing site‑specific quality plans, performing inspections and audits, overseeing documentation, and supporting subcontractor quality to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes. Responsibilities
  • Ensure mechanical, process piping, and structural fabrications meet ASME/AWS codes, project specifications, and established quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and manage site‑specific quality plans for a large semiconductor project.
  • Perform QA/QC inspections and audits on mechanical and piping systems to verify compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and document QC testing for large systems, including pressure testing, and ensure proper QA/QC sign‑off for completed work.
  • Review and interpret drawings, logs, and P& to validate installation quality and system integrity.
  • Control and maintain quality‑related documentation, including inspection reports, test records, certifications, and sign‑offs.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor quality activities to ensure adherence to project quality plans and standards.
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture with a focus on zero injuries while maintaining high‑quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with construction management, engineering, and field teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other company software tools such as Word, Excel, Bluebeam, ACC Build, and Navisworks to prepare reports, track quality metrics, and manage documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of different welding processes and high purity piping systems to evaluate workmanship and material compliance.
  • Coordinate QA/QC activities related to semiconductor, data center, and pharmaceutical‑type environments, including process piping and high purity systems.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple QA/QC tasks in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Support smart completions and related systems, when applicable, to ensure accurate tracking of construction and quality status.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes and documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a QA/QC role within the mechanical construction industry.
  • Level 2 certification in a relevant QA/QC or inspection discipline.
  • Experience working on semiconductor and/or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process piping, and structural fabrications in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend logs, drawings, and P&.
  • Understanding of pressure testing procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of different welding processes and their quality standards.
  • Familiarity with piping and component material standards, including certification documentation for high purity piping systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with company software tools such as Bluebeam, ACC Build, and Navisworks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned QA/QC tasks.
  • Availability to work overtime as required by project needs.
  • Ability to work at heights as needed on a construction site.
  • Physical ability to access tight or confined spaces safely.

  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
  • Current eye test suitable for inspection duties.
