Senior Engineer, FMEA & Quality Management Systems (QMS)

As a Senior Engineer, FMEA & Quality Management Systems (QMS), you will serve as a key leader in advancing Micron's culture of quality by driving enterprise-wide quality initiatives, strengthening QMS effectiveness, and enabling world-class manufacturing performance!

You will provide leadership in quality governance, FMEA deployment, audit readiness, and certification compliance (ISO 9001/IATF 16949), while fostering a proactive quality approach across the organization. Through initiatives such as Defense Lines, Manufacturing Discipline, Quality Good Catch, and Continuous Improvement Programs, you will help build a highly engaged workforce focused on risk prevention, operational excellence, and sustained customer trust!

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Enterprise FMEA Deployment:
    Serve as the site FMEA Administrator and domain expert, driving the deployment, governance, standardization, and continuous improvement of Design, Process, and System FMEAs across the organization and Leveraging Artificial Intelligence
  • Strengthen Risk-Based Decision Making:
    Facilitate proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation through robust FMEA methodologies, ensuring risks are effectively managed throughout the product and manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Advance FMEA Excellence:
    Champion standards, training, and coaching to enhance organizational capability in FMEA development, action prioritization, risk reduction, and lesson-learned integration
  • Drive QMS Effectiveness:
    Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System, ensuring alignment with Micron standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Audit Readiness:
    Maintain a state of continuous audit preparedness by strengthening process compliance, documentation control, and consistency to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Manage Audit Programs:
    Plan, implement, and oversee internal audits, while supporting external certification audits, customer audits, and regulatory assessments. Drive timely closure and effectiveness verification of corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • At least 8+ years' experience in semiconductor industry or EMS Industry with annual revenue in excess of $1 billion USD
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to influence across teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience serving as an FMEA Administrator, Champion, or Domain Expert, driving risk-based thinking and preventive quality strategies across multi-functional organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of AIAG-VDA FMEA methodology, risk prioritization, action management, and integration of lessons learned into FMEA processes.
  • Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and industry standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Experience leading internal, external, customer, and certification audits, with a demonstrated track record of sustaining audit readiness and driving effective corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in advanced quality and statistical tools, including FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
