The General Manager – Fuel Farm is ultimately responsible for the safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operation of the aviation fuel storage and distribution facility.
This position requires an experienced aviation fueling leader with demonstrated knowledge of aviation fuel storage, receipt, quality control, hydrant distribution systems, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and fuel facility management.
The General Manager is responsible for implementation and adherence to Menzies Aviation Safety, Security, Quality, Environmental, Training, and operational policies and SOPs, as well as applicable airline requirements, airport requirements, industry standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.
The successful candidate must possess sufficient technical knowledge and operational experience to independently oversee fuel-farm activities, recognize unsafe or non-compliant conditions, manage fuel-quality issues, support regulatory and customer audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
What you will be doing
- Maintain overall responsibility for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the aviation fuel facility, including fuel receipt, storage, transfer, filtration, quality control, hydrant distribution, inventory control, maintenance, and emergency response.
- Ensure facility operations comply with applicable requirements of ATA Specification 103, NFPA 407, OSHA regulations, applicable Energy Institute (EI) standards/recommended practices, ASTM aviation fuel specifications, airline fuel-quality requirements, airport requirements, and Menzies Aviation procedures.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of ATA 103 requirements applicable to fuel storage facilities, including fuel receipt, storage, filtration, sampling, testing, equipment inspection, recordkeeping, hydrant operations, differential pressure monitoring, sump management, and fuel-quality control.
- Maintain sufficient working knowledge of NFPA 407 – Standard for Aircraft Fuel Servicing to ensure appropriate controls are maintained for aviation fueling facilities, fueling equipment, emergency shutdown systems, fire protection, electrical safety, vehicle/equipment operations, and other applicable fire-safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements, including Hazard Communication, PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined-space requirements, fall protection, electrical safety, respiratory protection where applicable, emergency response, and other occupational safety requirements associated with aviation fuel facilities.
- Provide direct management oversight of the station's Fuel Quality Control Program and ensure QC personnel are properly trained, qualified, and performing required inspections, sampling, testing, and documentation.
