Summary
The Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development (ACOS for R&D) is a full-time Executive Career field position and reports to the Medical Center Director through the Chief of Staff. The incumbent functions as the Director of the Research Services and formulates the goals and objectives of the research mission - both basic and clinical - of the Boise VA Medical Center.

• Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  The incumbent is assigned to the Boise VA Medical Center as the Associate Chief of Staff for Research
• Incumbent's major responsibilities include oversight and responsibility for all areas of biomedical and clinical research within the Boise VA Medical Center (BVAMC) as well as any research activities conducted by VA Personnel employed by the BVAMC on VA time or with VA equipment - regardless of location of those activities
• The incumbent administers the facility s Research and Development (R&D) programs - including operation of the R&D Committee and subcommittees
• This encompasses expansion and submission of research proposals - accreditation maintenance - and resource and fiscal management of approved R&D funds and non-VA monies
