Overview
Reporting to the Sales and Service Manager, a Soft Goods Associate will engage customers in Men’s, Women’s, Junior, and Footwear apparel, clearance items, and fitting rooms to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Engage each customer, offering world‑class service and building lasting relationships.
- Seek out and engage customers throughout all Soft Goods areas.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all front‑end operations (returns, exchanges, gift cards, lesson redemptions, loyalty program awards, discounts, promotions, coupons, etc.) and assist as needed.
- Keep Soft Goods areas stocked to a premier level and uphold visual presentation to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Ensure all Soft Goods areas, equipment, and supplies are maintained and operational.
- Keep the Soft Goods area clean and professionally presented at all times.
- Demonstrate in‑depth product knowledge of Soft Goods categories, explaining features, benefits, and differences to customers.
- Foster an ethical conduct culture, safety, and compliance across all departments.
- Stay updated on merchandising promotions and marketing events, maintaining strong presence throughout promotion cycles via bulletins on The Links.
- Champion products and services, informing, educating, and promoting them to customers.
- Provide consistent feedback to the Sales and Service Manager on operational and merchandising opportunities to maintain best‑in‑class customer experience.
- Strong listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities to meet deadlines and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred experience in retail sales, customer service, or a similar role.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Climb up and down a ladder.
- Move throughout the store.
- Lift a 30‑lb box overhead.
- Maintain flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to quickly learn business concepts with appropriate training.
- Demonstrate strong self‑accountability and a proactive drive for results.
