- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with wine selections, product information, and pairing recommendations.
- Uphold all state and company regulations regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, including proper age verification.
- Process sales and special orders accurately while following all cash handling and register procedures.
- Stock and merchandise products according to rotation, pricing accuracy, and departmental display standards.
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays and work areas, including the wine bar and event center.
- Handle product credits and returns with proper documentation and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and professional signage to ensure clarity of pricing and product details.
- Assist with inventory counts and monitor stock levels to maintain availability of core items and specialty selections.
- Participate in tastings, trainings, and educational opportunities to strengthen product knowledge and support sales growth.
- Collaborate with coworkers and department leadership to uphold Co‑op quality standards and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers and peers.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Accuracy and accountability in cash handling and sales transactions.
- Ability to handle moderately complex issues independently while escalating higher‑level concerns when needed.

- Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with or strong knowledge of wine required.
- Working knowledge of POS systems and cash handling preferred.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be at least 18 years old to sell or handle alcohol per state law.
This role requires the ability to work in a retail environment with prolonged standing and frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., use equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, and communicate clearly with customers and staff. Tasks also require climbing step stools or ladders, repetitive arm and hand motions, and reaching above shoulders or horizontally when stocking or retrieving wine.
Proper PPE must be worn as required.
Work is performed primarily in a busy Wine Shop and grocery environment with frequent customer interaction, continuous movement, and a strong emphasis on teamwork, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
