Overview
Are you ready to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment? As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You will ensure a quick and easy customer experience, keep the store clean, and adapt to work in different areas of the store to maintain floor and stockroom cleanliness and help customers find great deals.
ResponsibilitiesSales and Customer Service
- Work with the team to keep the sales floor “runway ready,” merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
- Assist customers when cashiering using various platforms (in‑store, online, mobile) and operating a point‑of‑sale system.
- Provide a smooth fitting room experience by greeting, assisting and returning clothing to the floor.
- Maintain a clean, clutter‑free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
- Keep stockrooms organized, ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards.
- Promote Nordstrom Rewards and other store initiatives.
- Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders promptly while meeting quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders following packing and shipping standards.
- Use inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments.
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general support (e.g., set up special events, organize backroom, markdowns, relocate store fixtures).
- Clear, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
- Physical Requirements:
- Continuous movement for 6‑8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Stock and Fulfillment Only: frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up 50 pounds.
The pay range for this position is $15.90 – $16.50 per hour. Pay may differ by location and is based on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
