Floor Lead
- Starting Wage $17/hr Position Summary
The Floor Lead plays a key leadership role in ensuring an exceptional customer experience while supporting the store's sales and operational goals, and management. This position is responsible for leading associates on the sales floor, coaching team members, maintaining store standards, and ensuring daily operations run efficiently. Successful Floor Leads lead by example, provide excellent customer service, foster teamwork, and create an organized, productive work environment.
Floor leads must work with managers to ensure responsibilities listed below are met along with other store goals and daily operations.
- Lead, coach, and support associates and cashiers throughout each shift.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure responsibilities are completed efficiently.
- Coordinate associate lunches and breaks to maintain adequate floor coverage.
- Monitor attendance, manage call‑ins, and adjust staffing as needed.
- Ensure associates are prepared, productive, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions and operational support by remaining visible and accessible on the sales floor.
- Resolve customer and employee concerns professionally, knowing when to elevate issues and when to utilize the store's customer satisfaction policies.
- Maintain a strong understanding of store technology, including ACENET, Paladin, and other operating systems.
- Stay knowledgeable about store policies, procedures, and promotions to effectively assist both customers and team members.
- Prepare the sales floor for upcoming promotions by ensuring:
- Sale signs and pricing are accurate and displayed correctly.
- Endcaps and promotional displays are fully set.
- Advertisement materials are displayed appropriately.
- Team members are informed about current promotions and sale details.
- Train associates in essential store functions, including:
- Key cutting
- Paint mixing
- Special orders, deliveries, and repair paperwork
- Stihl product sales
- Big Green Egg product sales
- Assist management by providing feedback and recommendations regarding merchandising and product placement.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed according to company standards.
- Respond promptly to online orders and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Build and maintain kit SKUs and understand their setup and functionality.
- Know the appropriate contacts and procedures when operational issues arise.
