Role OverviewThis is an entry‑to‑mid‑level business development role designed for someone who wants to build a long‑term career in commercial construction. You'll support lead generation, relationship development, and proposal efforts while learning how national GC business development works from experienced leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, organized, personable, and eager to grow into a full Business Development Manager role.
This role includes responsibility for an established book of business, where you will be expected to strengthen, expand, and protect existing client relationships while also driving strategic new business growth. You will not be starting from scratch--REZ has long‑standing national and regional clients, and this role is key to deepening those partnerships and expanding their project pipelines.
What You’ll Do- Support lead generation efforts through Linked In, research, referrals, and industry outreach
- Assist with outreach to prospective clients in retail, restaurant, medical, and commercial sectors
- Help prepare proposals, presentations, and marketing materials with the operations team
- Maintain CRM records, track opportunities, and support reporting to leadership
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events
- Learn REZ's service lines, differentiators, and national delivery model
- 1‑3 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, or client‑facing roles
- Interest in commercial construction, real estate, facilities, or development
- Strong communication and follow‑up skills
- Comfortable using CRM tools, Linked In, and Microsoft Office
- Self‑motivated, organized, and coachable
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Clear growth path into a senior BD role
- Exposure to national clients and multi‑state projects
- Supportive, people‑first culture with hands‑on leadership
- Learn how large‑scale commercial construction BD actually works
This role is not a fit if you:
- Are looking for a high‑pressure, commission‑only sales role
- Are only interested in net‑new hunting and not in growing and maintaining existing client relationships
- Prefer rigid scripts or transactional selling over relationship‑building
- Are uncomfortable learning a technical industry like commercial construction
- Need constant direction and close supervision to stay productive
- Are looking for a short‑term role rather than a career path
