ESN Event Strategist - Independent Contractor

Overview

We are seeking experienced hospitality sales and meeting‑planning professionals to join the ESN, an independent event‑strategist team supporting the Maritz brand. The role is a commission‑based, independent contractor opportunity in which you will design and implement meeting and incentive solutions for clients across U.S. markets.

• Identify, develop, and pursue new accounts
• Conduct site selection research and present recommendations to prospective clients
• Prepare, present, and negotiate sales proposals and client agreements
• Initiate and negotiate hotel and meeting‑facility contracts
• Manage client accounts and perform related administrative tasks
• Maintain a pipeline of prospects and add prospects to the company CRM upon joining
• Utilize proprietary benchmarking tools, sales materials, and CRM analytics to enhance performance

• Minimum five years of sales experience, preferably within hospitality; other sales experience is welcome
• Evidence of LLC or business license
• Strong hotel‑buying experience and knowledge of program/event budget maintenance preferred
• Familiarity with travel supplier operations, U.S. domestic or international hotels, and destinations preferred
• Established sales pipeline with a detailed prospect list to be added to the CRM
• Proven negotiation skills and track record of developing and maintaining key client and supplier relationships
• Ability to work independently as an entrepreneur while representing Maritz privately

Residency is limited to the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.;
California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and Puerto Rico are excluded.
