Company Overview

Our client is an international education organization that partners with U.S. colleges and universities to deliver faculty-led short-term study abroad programs across approximately 40 destination countries. The company operates with separate sales and operations departments, allowing partnership managers to focus entirely on relationships and business development. This role owns institutional partnerships within a set of assigned NAFSA regions.

Position Overview

The Regional Partnership Manager will develop, strengthen, and expand institutional partnerships with U.S. colleges and universities, owning the full commercial side of the relationship from first contact through signed service agreement. This is a sales-driven role — operations builds itineraries and budgets, while this person drives proposals, handles objections, and closes programs. The ideal candidate has solid sales or business development experience, communicates confidently with U.S. higher education staff and faculty, and works independently against clear KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned partner institutions within designated NAFSA regions
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with study abroad offices, directors, and faculty
  • Review proposals and program options prepared by the operations team, send them to institutions, and handle questions and objections
  • Guide institutions from initial interest through program confirmation and signed service agreement
  • Conduct outbound outreach to new colleges and universities via email, phone, Linked In, conferences, referrals, and networking
  • Follow up with previously engaged schools that did not proceed to reopen opportunities
  • Schedule meetings with prospective partners and represent the company professionally at conferences and industry events
  • Expand existing partnerships by identifying additional program opportunities within current accounts
  • Coordinate with the operations team, sales manager, and leadership on pricing flexibility, discounts, and contract terms to convert opportunities
  • Propose creative solutions to meet institutional budget constraints without compromising company margins
  • Maintain accurate contact records, deal stages, and pipeline data in Hub Spot
  • Track all opportunities and communications, and report progress and sales activity to the Sales Manager
  • Contribute to regional and company-wide program targets
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of sales or business development experience with a clear track record of closing deals and managing a pipeline
  • Ability to own the front end of a sales cycle, including proposal follow-up, negotiation, and driving deals to signature
  • Strong client communication skills, including comfort handling calls, negotiations, and challenging conversations calmly with U.S.

    -based clients
  • Experience using a CRM such as Hub Spot for contact management, deal stages, and pipeline tracking
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills, able to manage schedule and follow-ups independently against KPIs
  • Problem-solving and negotiation mindset with the ability to find workable compromises between client expectations and internal constraints
  • Ability to work in U.S. or South America time zones to align with U.S. client availability
  • Available to work 30–40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of how faculty-led short-term study abroad programs work, including institutional processes and approvals
  • Experience selling to community colleges, colleges, or universities
  • Familiarity with NAFSA regions, conferences, or the international education industry
  • Experience with Asana and Google Drive
  • Willingness to travel to industry conferences (expenses covered)
  • Location: Remote (LATAM Applicants Only)
  • Schedule: Full-Time (30 - 40 Hours/Week – US Business Time)
