Job Title:

ETP Chemist (Junior / Entry-Level)

Role & Responsibilities

As an ETP Chemist, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day chemical processes, analysis, and operations of the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure compliance with environmental standards. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Chemical Analysis & Testing: Conducting regular laboratory testing of raw and treated effluent for key parameters such as COD, BOD, pH, TDS, TSS, Oil & Grease, and DO.
  • Process Control & Dosing: Determining and optimizing the correct dosing of chemicals (coagulants, decolourants, flocculants, hypo, etc.) based on daily laboratory test results.
  • Plant Operation & Monitoring: Supervising the daily operations of the ETP, ensuring proper functioning of primary, secondary (biological), and tertiary treatment units.
  • Logbook & Documentation: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date daily logs, test reports, chemical consumption records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying process deviations, high pollutant loads, or biomass issues in the aeration tank and taking immediate corrective actions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, handling hazardous chemicals safely, and maintaining clean lab and plant premises.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 0.6 Months (6 Months) to 1 Year of hands-on experience in an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). Freshers with strong internship experience in ETP/STP labs are also welcome to apply.
  • Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a Diploma/B.E. in Environmental/Chemical Engineering.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Basic hands-on knowledge of laboratory testing (pH, COD, TDS, etc.).
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment chemicals and basic biological treatment processes (MLSS tracking).
  • Soft Skills: Quick learner, disciplined, ready to work in shifts if required, and good coordination with plant operators.
  • Locality Preference: Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Vadodara and nearby industrial zones will be highly preferred.
