SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Catering Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and enforcing security operations within airport catering service areas. This role ensures compliance with TSA regulations, airport security requirements, and company policies while leading a team of security personnel. The supervisor plays a critical role in protecting aircraft, personnel, catering supplies, and equipment by maintaining strict security controls and promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and manage security operations for airport catering services
- Implement and enforce strict security protocols in accordance with TSA regulations and company policies
- Supervise the screening of catering equipment and supplies prior to aircraft loading
- Train, mentor, and lead security personnel in catering security procedures
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with security standards
- Coordinate with airline representatives and airport authorities to maintain operational security integrity
- Respond promptly and effectively to security breaches, incidents, or suspicious activities
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for catering areas
- Maintain accurate records and logs of security checks, inspections, and incidents
- Provide regular reports on security operations and compliance status to management
- Stay current with aviation security regulations, TSA requirements, and industry best practices
- Manage the allocation, maintenance, and accountability of security equipment and resources
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services when required
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive security measures
- Foster a culture of safety, vigilance, and security awareness among staff
- Support and promote the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives
- Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with SMS reporting procedures
- Participate in safety investigations, audits, and corrective action processes as required
- Apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including written documentation
- Must have reliable transportation
- Previous aviation security or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of TSA regulations and airport security standards preferred
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY / WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms generated by terminal environments
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, aircraft noise, and moderate to high noise levels
