Position Description

Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Boise, Idaho - offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a technician career you can feel good about.

Available hourly pay: $26.00 per hour.

• Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700.
• Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year).

  Tuesday-Saturday.
  
  Hours:
  
  First shift Tuesday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred).
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor-vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable.
• Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Perform facility maintenance duties.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned.
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
• Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support.
