Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Boise, Idaho - offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a technician career you can feel good about.
Available hourly pay: $26.00 per hour.
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700.
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year).
- Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday.
Hours:
First shift Tuesday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred).
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
- Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor-vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable.
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned.
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
- Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support.
