Position

Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Boise, Idaho. Provides a stable company with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
  • Performs standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable.
  • Identifies root causes of basic failures or conditions and performs required repairs.
  • Replaces defective components as instructed.
  • Performs facility maintenance duties.
  • Interacts with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned.
  • Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
  • Performs other support duties as required to assist operations, including Service Island support.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Vocational or technical certification, postsecondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred).
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake, and tire work.
  • Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire.
  • Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
