Position: Installation Technician II-III (Semiconductor) (31791)

POSITION SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, perform complex orders and installations of CMP units at various site locations or service centers. This position requires extensive travel (70%+), including frequent overnight stays. Candidates must be flexible with work hours, as installations may occur during evenings, nights, and occasionally weekends to meet customer and project requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform all Installation, Setup, and Calibration procedures required for each tool to be installed with full understanding of current tool configuration and possible constraints that will delay installation/qualification schedule(s). (Essential)
  • Interface with clients at the client site. Perform all functions to meet customer and company specifications and client satisfaction. (Essential)
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using service maintenance checklists and protocols. (Essential)
  • Prepare reports for product analysis for failure trends and serviceability issues. (Essential)
  • Monitor overall systems, performance, circuit utilization, cost reduction initiatives, and service improvement opportunities. (Essential)
  • Perform field service job functions during downtime. Assist other groups within the company as needed. (Essential)
  • Troubleshoot system problems as needed during the installation and qualification period. (Essential)
  • Perform installation and testing of all circuits, equipment, and components to ensure proper configuration and operation. (Essential)
  • Under direct supervision and direction, the ability to perform installation activities on other Ebara products, such as pump racks and heater systems covered under abatement installation work, which includes the following (Essential):
    • Setting POC (points‑of‑contact) for facility connections.
    • Making all final connections within the pump rack.
  • With assistance, commission pumps to include powering on, base pressure checks, and helium leak checks.
  • Install heater jackets and make power and or communication connections.
  • Train and/or mentor junior‑level installation personnel requiring the ability to effectively communicate. (Essential)
  • Act as a liaison with outside vendors and customers. (Essential)
  • Comply with EBARA's safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara and customer safety policies. (Essential)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. (Non‑Essential)
QUALIFICATIONS POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competency Statement(s)

  • The ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted from the floor to waist level.
  • The ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.
  • The ability to perform the identified essential functions of the classification, including the operation of any machinery and/or equipment that is associated with performing the essential functions.

EDUCATION
  • High School, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, or completion of an accredited basic electronics program, or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE
  • Eight (8) or more years of work‑related experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical skills. Working knowledge of principles of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology.
  • Strong Customer Relations skills.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot down to a component level.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Speaking in front of groups. Strong time management skills. Self‑starter.
  • Demonstrated leadership and program management skills.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Provide verification of a good driving record if servicing customers off‑site.
