Mobile Diesel Technician Level IIResponsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, mechanical/hydraulic/electrical diagnostics, and additional duties as assigned. Works under the supervision of a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician or higher, continuously improving diagnostic and repair skills while maintaining high performance metrics.
DUTIES- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Make minor adjustments and repair various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair the same equipment types, using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Road‑test vehicles to verify proper operation.
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine the best solution.
- Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
- Work with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work on Repair Orders using the company TRAIT app and upload photos.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
- Operate independently and manage a daily schedule.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and adhere to standard repair times.
- Procure parts from approved vendors as needed.
- Communicate with management for repair approvals and order information.
- Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience (additional education or 5 years of experience considered).
- Possess a complete set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
- Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical or provide a DOT medical card with at least four months remaining.
- Be at least 21 years old; hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and clean driving record.

- Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment.
- Accurate spatial judgement of object distances.
- Logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions.

Hourly pay range: USD 26.73 – 40.10 per hour, with potential additional compensation such as commissions and incentive programs.
