HVAC Apprentice

Position: HVAC Apprentice – Daikin Applied – Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)

• Perform and assist in service of equipment, including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality, including fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Perform and assist in the rebuilding of an HVAC unit.
• Drive a company vehicle to and from job sites.
• Transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and required materials.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other documents timely.
• Basic data entry and use of email, internet, and word processing programs.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication.
• Interact with customers by providing status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
• Explain technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technicians and off‑site learning modules.
• Maintain all required certifications and develop new skill sets.
• Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to service and adhere to Daikin’s and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

• Factory‑certified training, refrigeration certification, or other professional on‑the‑job training in HVAC.

• Accepted as 5th year Apprentice by the union.
• High School Diploma or GED, or technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support required.
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law/district.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Member of local union or willing to join the union.
• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding).
• Current first aid / CPR card.

Rate is subject to amount outlined in the CBA and may vary based on level offered.
