Civil Pipelayer
Nampa, Idaho About the Position

IMCO General Construction is seeking experienced Civil Pipelayers to join our team on the construction of a major deep gravity sanitary sewer project in Nampa, Idaho. This project involves the installation of large-diameter gravity sewer systems and requires individuals who take pride in producing quality work while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

The ideal candidate has experience installing underground utility systems, working around existing utilities, establishing grade, and collaborating with a high-performing field crew. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project with opportunities for continued employment on future IMCO projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install gravity sewer pipe and underground utility systems according to plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and grade stakes.
  • Prepare trenches to required depths and grades while ensuring all trench safety requirements are met.
  • Verify trench conditions are safe before entering and ensure proper shoring or protective systems are in place when required.
  • Set and maintain pipe grade using rotary lasers, pipe lasers, and grade rods.
  • Prepare trench bottoms by leveling and grading with hand tools or compacting equipment.
  • Connect pipe using approved methods including gaskets, cement, glue, or other specified connection systems.
  • Install manholes, structures, fittings, and related underground utility components.
  • Assist with back filling, compaction, and restoration activities.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools associated with underground utility construction.
  • Work effectively with equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors to maintain production goals.
  • Follow IMCO safety policies and participate in daily safety meetings and hazard identification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of heavy civil construction experience preferred.
  • Previous pipe laying or underground utility installation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience installing gravity sewer systems preferred.
  • Ability to read plans and understand grades and elevations.
  • Familiarity with trench safety requirements and underground utility installation practices.
  • Ability to complete daily reports, timecards, and other required documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as project needs require.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, squat, climb, and work in trenches for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding construction work throughout the workday.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Wage: $30.00–$36.00 DOE
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance beginning the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • 401(k) with company match—IMCO matches 100% of employee contributions up to 4% of eligible wages after 60 days.

Project Information
  • Location:

    Nampa, Idaho
  • Typical shifts are 8–10 hours per day.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be available based on project demands.
