Primary purpose
Service company trucks and forklifts at the Boise shop (Treasure Valley locations) as well as at other company locations.
Salary$22-$25/hour
Duties and Responsibilities Equipment and Vehicle Servicing- Service and repair company trucks and forklifts, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively to perform maintenance tasks.
- Follow up to ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and meets quality standards.
- Comply with established company safety and operating rules and procedures.
- Inventory parts are maintained and used in the shop facility, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing operations.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles as needed, keeping detailed written records of all maintenance and repair activities for billing purposes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment to protect self and others.
- Collaborate with counterparts in other maintenance shops to streamline processes and share best practices.
- Work with individual operators to understand and resolve complaints and concerns regarding vehicle/equipment maintenance and operation.
- Effectively communicate with customers and coworkers, providing accurate, meaningful, courteous, and timely responses to questions or concerns.
- Must be able to travel overnight to other locations as required.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains, and various hand tools.
- Ability to learn to operate all types of vehicles and equipment and possess a master tool set.
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other related state and federal regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
- Basic typing, writing skills, and computer competency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of a one-year degree in heavy truck and/or equipment mechanics at the vocational level is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience working in heavy truck and forklift mechanics in the field is preferred.
- Commitment to personal development and staying current within the field of work.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and multitask with finesse.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a company-acceptable driving record.
