The following noninstructional vacancy is listed in Human Resources for the school year.
POSITION / LOCATION1 - Technician / Facilities Department
ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve Months (260 Days)/8 Hours Daily
SALARY RANGE: $49,566.40 - $57,678.40 (While in effect, additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually.For the 2026-27 school year, the amount for this position is $8,954 and will be prorated from July 1, 2026.)
QUALIFICATIONS- (1) High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- (2) Valid Florida Commercial Drivers' License or obtain within 6 months of employment.
- (3) Minimum of five (5) years' experience in building maintenance or construction industry.
- (4) Willing to become certified in areas requiring special handling, including LP gas and freon.
- (5) Experience with electrical and HVAC preferred.
- (1) Maintain, install and repair water and sewer lines.
- (2) Maintain, install and repair all systems requiring plumbing skill, such as water cooler, sprinkler, pumps, back-flow valves.
- (3) Maintain, repair and / or install gas lines.
- (4) Inventory equipment, supplies and materials.
- (5) Requisition equipment, supplies and materials for jobs in progress.
- (6) Clean and maintain heating systems and hot water systems.
- (7) Keep boilers in safe and efficient operating condition.
- (8) Maintain building roofs. Repair leaks and replace faulty roofing when necessary.
- (9) Read blueprints and construct buildings and projects to specifications.
- (10) Maintain all structures in a safe and attractive condition.
- (11) Scrap, clean, prime and paint all surfaces as needed.
- (12) Inspect electrical wiring, safety systems, intercoms and HVAC controls periodically.
- (13) Repair and replace all faulty circuits and / or controls.
- (14) Maintain records of safety inspections.
- (15) Provide the Maintenance Manager with information needed to establish the fiscal budget.
- (16) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
