Industrial Instrumentation And Control Systems Technician

This role performs advanced, lead-level work supporting the maintenance, calibration, and installation of a wide range of industrial instrumentation and control systems used at advanced water renewal (wastewater treatment) facilities and other public works utilities.

We're looking for individuals with experience working on electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic instrumentation - whether gained in water/wastewater, manufacturing, industrial automation, food and beverage processing, refinery operations, power generation, or other process-driven environments. Skills in troubleshooting, maintaining, or installing sensors, control valves, PLC-connected instruments, or similar equipment transfer extremely well into this position.

You'll ensure all instrumentation is properly installed and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements. This position operates under limited supervision and is ideal for someone who enjoys independently solving technical challenges in a critical infrastructure setting.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 years of experience installing, repairing and maintaining industrial instrumentation and control systems, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Licensing And Other Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Electrical Specialty Journey level License
  - Idaho Limited Energy, International Society of Automation Certified Control Systems Technician (ISA-CCST) or an International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians Certification (ISCET) or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain an Idaho Wastewater Treatment Class I License or Operator in Training (OIT) certificate within six months of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

  City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
