The ability to do the work of a Carpenter without more than normal Supervision Examples include:
Use techniques for constructing, installing, repairing, and modifying wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness; studies blueprints, sketches, and work orders; fit, install, and maintain finished hardware such as locks and kick plates.

Note:

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

The employee performs tasks normally requiring moderate physical exertion, including frequent medium lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, carrying, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, and negotiating confined spaces. Heavy lifting (over 50 pounds) and strenuous exertion is occasionally necessary. The incumbent will require the ability to work in a variety of work sites, including, roofs, scaffolds, crawl spaces, ladders, etc. The employee must be able to distinguish colors.

The employee is standing or walking most of the time. Some work is performed in shop areas where the worker is exposed to moderate or high noise levels from operating machinery, sawdust in the air, glue fumes, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment. When working at job sites, workers may be exposed to extreme weather conditions and the hazards of working on and around scaffolds and ladders.

They are subject to cuts, bruises, and contusions. Carpentry workers may work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attics which may be dusty and dirty. The employee uses protective devices such as ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, and gloves.
