A day in the life
You start your morning with a service dispatch, tools ready—ohmmeter in hand, gauges calibrated. By mid-morning, you’ve diagnosed a stubborn chiller issue, welded a small bracket to secure a vibrating line, and replaced a failing pump motor. The afternoon takes you to a property where you complete routine maintenance to keep systems efficient and compliant with safety standards. Along the way, you explain findings to clients in plain language, document your work, and drive a company vehicle between sites with a clean, professional presence.
Whatyou’ll do
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems across a variety of commercial and property settings.
- Use ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize efficiency and meet safety requirements.
- Repair or replace compressors, pumps, and motors as needed.
- Weld components to support reliable repairs or new installations.
- Partner with property teams on HVAC-related maintenance tasks.
- Deliver clear, professional communication to customers regarding system status and options.
- Operate company vehicles to travel safely to and from job sites.
- Proven experience as an HVAC/HVACR technician or in a closely related field.
- Strong problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record suitable for van driving.
- AAON and/or chiller experience preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and chiller/boiler operations (Laars and Aerco preferred).
- Familiarity with appliance and equipment repair techniques.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing for system installs or repairs (a plus).
- HVAC certification or related credential preferred but not required.
