We're looking for a dedicated team player to join Ada County Juvenile Services. This position is open until a sufficient number of qualified applications are received. Applicants are encouraged to apply promptly to ensure consideration.

About the Role

The role provides case management services to clients and their families, including assessments, screenings, referrals, counseling, and navigation of community resources. This position supports The Bridge, Ada County’s Youth and Family Resource Center, and works closely with law enforcement, schools, and community partners.

Core Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent customer service, engaging youth and families in program participation.
  • Conduct screening assessments on referrals from law enforcement, schools, and the community.
  • Refer clients for additional in‑depth assessments when warranted.
  • Complete evidence‑based risk and needs assessments.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate services and programs available in the community.
  • Make referrals for medical, psychological, legal, financial, shelter, and employment services.
  • Assist individuals and families with crisis intervention.
  • Perform case management services on assigned cases or refer to a community resource specialist.
  • Monitor and ensure client progress with case plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other community programs.
  • Maintain communication with the supervisor regarding workload and potential issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and document statistical data related to program assignments and community resource utilization.
  • Assist in monitoring program budgets and provide information for future budget development.
Additional Functions
  • Work with community‑based resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related human services field (required).
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and/or social services (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of social services.
  • Knowledge of individual and family crisis intervention techniques.
  • Knowledge of program development and needs assessment.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development issues.
  • Skill in creating a comfortable atmosphere for client and family interviews and facilitating group sessions.
  • Skill in conducting interviews, assessments, and developing case plans.
  • Ability to use professional judgment in applying appropriate policies and guidelines.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across community agencies.
  • Strong planning and organization abilities.
  • Ability to understand and interpret laws and regulations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and counsel juveniles and/or adults.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with individuals in crisis, including small children.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Other Requirements
  • Strong desire to work with at‑risk juveniles and their families.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics, Values, and Policies of Juvenile Services.
  • Position is safety‑sensitive; incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Physical ability to function in a general office environment and respond to emergency situations.
