Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Delivery Driver!
Location:
2655 S. Broadway Ave, Boise
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt
Position Pay: $22/hr
- CDL Class "C" preferred but not required. We pay for the DOT Med Card!
NOTE:
All applicants must satisfactorily complete our pre‑employment drug screen, physical (Obtain DOT Medical Card), background, and motor vehicle record check.
- Be the Face of Our Brand to our customers for in‑home and on‑site furniture delivery and assembly. Included and not limited to:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
- Act as the Brand Ambassador while on the road and during deliveries for Scandinavian Designs | Dania Furniture.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service while delivering high‑quality products to our customers’ homes and businesses.
- Be proactive to bring solutions including furniture assembly or repairs and other added value services as needed.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- Drive large box trucks safely and courteously, follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a timely delivery schedule, contacting customers via phone, email, and text to confirm delivery details.
- Inspect delivery vehicles pre and post trip and as directed to ensure all vehicles are in top condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records and continuously partner with the Transportation team and Department of Transportation regulations including Hours of Service (HOS).
- Guarantee that all products are transported and delivered safely and professionally. This includes and not limited to:
- Make sure all safety procedures are followed during loading, unloading and transport of merchandise.
- Safely load and unload merchandise, ensuring it is in perfect condition.
- Assemble furniture, affix tickets, and properly prepare and place merchandise in the delivery staging area.
- Review and verify invoices and purchase requests for accuracy.
- Maintain an accurate inventory to ensure the efficient flow of merchandise.
- Remove all packaging materials and debris, ensuring a clean and tidy delivery for our customers.
- Go the extra mile during deliveries and at the warehouse and showrooms by assisting with showroom changes, tagging merchandise, and maintaining displays, ensuring a clean and orderly showroom and backroom.
- Greet clients and answer phones promptly, professionally, and politely. Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- May require driving long distances, which may include infrequent overnight stays (Per Diem provided when applicable).
- Perform other duties or special projects when assigned.
- MUST:
- Have a Customer‑centric attitude.
- 1–3 years of successful experience in customer‑facing roles.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license required. Minimum 2 years of safe driving; preferred 5+ years of driving experience.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Be able to successfully complete our pre‑employment physical and drug screening.
- Be able to obtain a DOT Medical certificate.
- Employment in this role is dependent on maintaining all DOT and driving certifications if applicable to the location.
- Must successfully complete the following pre‑employment screenings: drug screen, physical (including DOT Medical Card), background check, and motor vehicle record check.
- This position is subject to random and post‑accident drug screening.
- Our position requires successfully completing the pre‑employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.
- Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. unassisted regularly and assemble furniture.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to read invoices and utilize systems to better serve our customers.
- Proficiency in using a hand truck, understanding basic assembly, and safely operating small power tools.
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification (required at some locations).
- Working hours will include weekends and holidays and will require flexibility.
- Occasional overtime, weekend work, and travel to other locations.
- High School diploma or equivalent GED, 2+ years’ work experience driving is a plus.
