Job SummaryA forklift operator responsible for operating power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The role requires safe and efficient equipment operation, handling inbound and outbound shipments, order picking, quality checks, and maintaining accurate inventory using RF scanning technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receiving/Put‑Away: Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations; input data accurately into WMS; efficiently stack and store product; maintain an organized work area.
- Order Picking: Pull and prepare shipments, ensuring correct quantity and type of product; perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards; prepare freight accurately and timely.
- Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage‑free; report quality variances.
- Delivery: Move product from staging to production lines or docks; provide proper documentation; keep records and reports to maintain inventory control and security.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain a clean, orderly work area; comply with SOPs, corporate policies, safety rules, and OSHA/ MSDS Standards; participate in safety meetings.
- Equipment Operation: Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklifts, clamp trucks, drum attachments, or other power equipment; inspect and perform minor maintenance daily; operate equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed methods; keep forklift certification active.
- Maintenance: Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties (Site Specific): Change forklift fuel tanks; participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking; repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays; help maintain facility cleanliness and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Completion of a forklift training program.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with RF scanners and WMS functions.
- Basic to intermediate math skills for verifying quantities and inventory.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, and adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
- 1–2 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 1–2 years forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.

Compensation and BenefitsExpected base pay range: $16.81–$22.00 hourly, based on experience, skills, and location. Benefits and eligibility are available through the DSV Benefits Showcase and may vary by location and division in accordance with applicable laws.
