Warehouse Operator, Associate

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities may include loading, unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking products. The Associate is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership of damages or discrepancies.
Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Shipping Responsibilities- The shipping functions include using a gas or electric powered forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack materials. Associates must accurately and efficiently load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers, following Standard Operating Procedures.
- The receiving functions include using a forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack, and store items. Associates must accurately locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas, following Standard Operating Procedures.
- The picking functions include using a forklift to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands. Associates must pick, stage, package, band, shrink‑wrap, and label product as required, following Standard Operating Procedures.
- The quality control functions involve using appropriate documentation to verify that all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly, and reporting any damages or discrepancies.
- All associates are responsible for executing safety protocols and maintaining a clean, orderly facility. Associates must comply with all SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
- Equipment used may include a sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, aisle master, or pallet jack.
- Associates are responsible for equipment upkeep and reporting problems.
- Daily inspections and minor maintenance of forklift or other equipment are required.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed methods.
- Maintain an active forklift certification.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.

Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- Able to operate MHE.
- Must have completed a forklift training program.
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months (mild to moderate).
- Basic computer skills; experience with RF scanners and WMS functions.
- English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities and inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work with minimal supervision; adaptability to change and fast pace.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 1-3 years forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasionally handling/fingering and sitting.
- Frequently bending.
- Constantly walking and standing.
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds, with reach above shoulder and squat or kneel.
The job requires moving in a warehouse with low to moderate noise. Employees are rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
