IFG US is partnering with a manufacturing client in the south suburbs looking for a Senior Accounting Manager. They are targeting a wide range of experience (7 – 20+ years) as long as the majority has been in manufacturing. CPA strongly preferred and public accounting is “nice to have” and / or middle market (non-public) company experience is “nice to have”.
Friday is remote (4 days in office is non-negotiable; they want people who want to collaborate). Start and end times are very flexible; can start as early as 6am (and leave by 3pm) or start at 10am (and leave 7pm) or whatever best fits your commute schedule.
Their compensation includes a salary range of $115K - $150K + 6% annual bonus + profit sharing + 401(k) contribution + education reimbursement (undergraduate, graduate, certifications, and software training.
Responsibilities- Supervised and mentored Accounting and Accounts Payable personnel while facilitating regular team discussions to align on goals, deadlines, and responsibilities.
- Managed the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring financial data was finalized accurately and within reporting timelines through ERP and reporting platforms.
- Oversaw reconciliation activities and verified the integrity of financial records related to cash flow, inventory, receivables, payables, prepaids, and accrued expenses.
- Supported the preparation and review of annual financial statements for designated business entities.
- Contributed to the enhancement and upkeep of accounting guidelines, internal controls, and operational procedures.
- Drove process optimization initiatives by introducing automation, system enhancements, and technology-based accounting solutions in collaboration with IT and cross-functional teams.
- Handled additional finance, accounting, and administrative responsibilities as assigned to support organizational operations.
- Provided accounting support for manufacturing functions, including inventory tracking, standard cost analysis, physical count procedures, and variance reporting.
- Directed key initiatives such as audit preparation, ERP implementation efforts, accounting compliance updates, and other strategic finance projects.
- Assisted with renewals and administration related to employee benefits, insurance coverage, banking arrangements, and contractual agreements.
- Helped implement updated accounting regulations and corporate financial policies across business operations.
- Utilized ERP and financial reporting tools to strengthen analytics, reporting accuracy, and business decision-making capabilities.
- Served as a financial resource to executive leadership by analyzing, researching, and resolving complex accounting matters.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- CPA strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with managing accounting staff
