The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary Bilingual Itinerant English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching position for the  summer school year.

The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students in the ESL classroom; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.

• Applicants must hold appropriate State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a English as a Second Language endorsement or Educator License w/Stipulations (ELS)
• Math, Science, or Language Arts Endorsement Preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required
• Knowledgeable in ESL teaching methods, curriculum, materials and instructional assessments
• Previous teaching experience with bilingual/ESL students preferred
• Previous teaching experience in the primary grades
• Ability to organize and structure classes to maximize student learning
• Inclination to be a part of staff development and program improvement activities, both self-initiated and building designed, as well as participation in assessment sessions throughout the school district when needed
• Ability to work closely with parents, teachers, and supervisors to establish effective communication

The salary will be $40.00 per hour. Applicants must work the entire summer session. No vacation times or subs are acceptable.
