Qualifications and Desired

Experience:
  • Valid Illinois Special Education Certification (LBS
    1)
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, able to provide instruction and support in both languages
  • Previous experience in a special education classroom preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with special needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to plan and implement IEPs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that respects multicultural backgrounds
  • Translate and communicate with families in both English and Spanish as needed
  • Monitor and record student progress, adjusting strategies as required
  • Engage in meetings and professional development relevant to the role
