Make a meaningful impact supporting students as an on-site American Sign Language Interpreter with this rewarding contract opportunity near Bolingbrook, IL. This role is ideal for professionals eager to provide both interpreting and hearing itinerant services during both the Extended School Year (ESY) and the regular school year (NSY), helping students thrive in an inclusive educational setting.

Qualifications:
  • Fluency and proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • State and/or national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in school settings preferred
  • Ability to provide onsite support and collaborate with educational teams
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success
Role Responsibilities:
  • Deliver daily onsite ASL interpreting for students during school hours (330 minutes per day during the regular school year; 1100 minutes per week during ESY)
  • Provide hearing itinerant services as scheduled: 100 minutes per week direct (regular and ESY), and monthly consultative support (180 minutes/month during the school year; 75 minutes/month during ESY)
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication between students, staff, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting services to meet individual student needs and classroom dynamics
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an accessible learning environment
  • Work onsite during both the ESY (June 15, 2026, to July 24, 2026; Monday-Friday) and the upcoming regular school year
