We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained elementary classroom focused on social-emotional learning and behavioral regulation. In this position, you'll provide individualized academic and emotional support to elementary students in a structured, nurturing environment.
You'll deliver direct instruction in core subjects while also teaching essential coping and emotional regulation strategies. Each student will have a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that you'll implement, monitor, and adjust to promote steady progress and personal growth. Collaboration will be central to your success—you'll work closely with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to create consistent, meaningful supports across settings.

Requirements Experience working with young learners with diverse needs. Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
