Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position is ideal for an energetic, creative individual who is committed to providing a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Head Start Performance Standards and passionate about fostering each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure school readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement The Creative Curriculum for Preschool
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
- Use individualized instruction and positive behavior guidance strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation on child progress, attendance, and assessments in accordance with program requirements.
- Foster strong partnerships with families by maintaining open communication and encouraging family involvement in the educational process.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children by following all licensing regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and administrators to ensure high-quality program implementation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training sessions, and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (CDA credential considered with relevant experience).
- Working knowledge of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, the Head Start Performance Standards, and early childhood best practices.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Must successfully pass all required background checks.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- A sincere passion for working with young children and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
