Working across project, fabrication, warehouse, receiving, shipping, and accounting teams, you’ll serve as both strategic purchasing leader and hands‑on buyer, building the processes, vendor relationships, and reporting systems that keep AMS’s supply chain ahead of every project’s needs.

As an employee‑owned company, the supply chain you build is one you share in, with Quality, Integrity, Reliability built into every purchase order.

What You’ll Own

  • Coordinate with the Director of Piping Fabrication and project staff for shipment, drop shipment, and staging of materials to fabrication facilities and project locations.
  • Develop and maintain AMS commodity purchasing and material‑management processes using Spectrum ERP, Excel estimates, and P6 schedules, writing and executing purchase orders, managing material returns and tax‑exempt tracking, and developing warehousing and inventory‑tracking systems.
  • Manage project inventory visibility and cross‑project transfers, procuring by project while enabling transfers to protect schedules and managing refill, surplus, and transfer tracking.
  • Own vendor master strategy and preferred vendor selection while maintaining diversified supplier channels to avoid over‑consolidation.
  • Manage vendors and upstream manufacturers, monitoring commodity markets, shifting lead times, availability constraints, and manufacturer capacity.
  • Coordinate with project, fabrication, warehouse, receiving, shipping, and accounting teams to ensure in‑time material availability and elevate shortages, backorders, delivery issues, and supply‑chain risks.
  • Develop reporting focused on material availability, inventory accuracy, and vendor performance.
  • Support estimating, preconstruction, and project planning with commodity pricing, lead‑time, escalation risk, vendor capacity, and procurement strategy input.
What You Bring Required
  • 5 to 10+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing purchasing and material handling for multiple concurrent projects with executive‑level responsibility for cost control, schedule, and quality.
