Overview
The Material Handler - Outbound Mail Dock is responsible for ensuring that the outbound mail dock is maintained and managed to a daily schedule for all outbound mail trailers. This role works directly with the Mail Dock Lead and reports to the Outbound Mail Supervisor. This position works with other mail material handlers and dock personnel, upholding all mail system verification tools and ensuring all mail loads are properly loaded and secured daily between shifts.
Responsibilities- Complete jobs, tasks, duties, and priorities to meet daily deadlines and goals
- Support team members on daily plans
- Daily communication with Mail Lead verifying mail loads
- Communicate job-specific issues or non-conforming mail; escalate issues to Lead/Supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; ensure staging areas are defined and supplies are restocked
- Document files are filed and verified as required
- Provide Lead/Supervisor with daily status; communicate handoffs to the next shift
- E-mail recycle swap requests as needed
- Maintain an accident-free and safe working environment
- Wrap mail skids, load and unload trucks, and verify loads
- Minimum 2+ years of experience and certified to operate a forklift or able to pass forklift certification test
- Must be available to work overtime as business needs require
- Strong conflict/issue resolution skills
- English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking required; bilingual Spanish preferred
- Proficient with internet research and MS Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel
No supervisor responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentIndoor, temperature-controlled, production facility.
Physical Demands- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours/day
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for specific job functions
