This Transit Operating Program Manager position manages public transportation operating assistance funding programs and grants across northern Illinois, excluding the Chicago metropolitan area and NITA service areas. The role provides technical guidance to urban and rural transit communities on federal and state compliance, administers grants, reviews funding applications, and serves as the state's primary contact for operating programs in the region.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in transportation management, business administration, public administration, accounting, or planning plus two years of related experience, OR eight years of related experience in tr
- Experience and knowledge working with state and federal funding programs and grants
- Knowledge of financial management and general accounting principles
- Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data and assignments
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel statewide
