Job Summary
The Quality Tech is responsible for ensuring that all elements of food safety within the Quality Monitoring Scheme are being met. Ensures that all regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives are being met and maintained.
Responsibilities- Perform quality checks on production lines in a timely and accurate fashion every hour per line. (Will frequently be responsible for 3 lines at any given time).
- Bring discrepancies with the Quality Management System (QMS) to the attention of Supervisor or Quality Manager. Discrepancies include HACCP programs, Allergen programs, Sanitation procedures, GMP findings, Foreign Material findings, and Hold procedures.
- Ensure that produced products meet all legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook for each product.
- Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion each day.
- Maintain 5-S and keep work areas clean.
- Keep all information pertaining to operations (products, customers, production details, etc.) confidential.
- Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition and store appropriately.
- Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions.
- Follow Hold Procedures for all non-conforming materials or product.
- Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks/tasks as needed.
- Assist in test runs and new product trials as needed.
- Perform other audits or inspections as required and other duties as directed by supervision.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Post High School education preferred
- 3 months of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician (required)
- Preferred – 1 year of experience as a QA Technician or in a technical department
- Attention to detail with ability to spot defects on fast-moving production lines
- Basic understanding of how different machinery operates as it relates to product quality and necessary adjustments
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
Spanish language skills a plus - Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations (fractions, ratios, percentages)
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal communications and work collaboratively
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Ability to follow safety processes and procedures
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and varying temperatures
- Locations may be warm or refrigerated depending on site
- Team-oriented environment with professional communication
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and to stand or sit for extended durations
- Must be able to work required overtime and across shifts

- Starting pay:
Quality Technician I at $19.55/hr with shift differential for 2nd shift; base pay varies by location and experience - Eligible for discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance
