Position: Hydraulic Service Technician I

As a key player of the service team at Hengli America, the hydraulic service technician evaluates and repairs hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and valves for warranty return and other purposes. This position is located at the Bolingbrook service center and requires travel to service Hengli products or provide product training at customer sites.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate product conditions by conducting performance tests and tear‑down inspections.
  • Use various gauges, meters, tape measures, micrometers, calipers and electrical equipment to check parts dimensions.
  • Determine if warranty‑return products are repairable and develop repair solutions.
  • Complete repair or rework of products per specifications and instructions.
  • Test units per procedures, instructions, and specifications.
  • Complete all required records and documentation for each project.
  • Communicate with customers about repair plans and project status in a timely manner.
  • Service company products at customer sites as required, performing testing, troubleshooting and adjustments as needed.
  • Remain technically competent and current in new developments within the industry.
  • Travel domestically to customer sites to offer support and product repair services.
Position Requirements / Qualifications
  • 2 to 3 years in fluid power service and repair required; 3 to 5 years preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required; 2‑year associate degree in relevant courses preferred, or a combination of formal and hands‑on experience with more years of service can be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
  • Forklift driving experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the year to customer sites for service repairs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use Office software.
  • Hydraulic component troubleshooting skills (e.g., hydraulic cylinder, pump, motor).
  • Hydraulic test bench knowledge or hands‑on experience desired.
