Technician II - Container Assembly & Repair
We are seeking a skilled Technician II to join our team in Bolingbrook, IL. This role is responsible for assembling new-generation storage containers and repairing existing containers to meet company quality and safety standards. Successful candidates will have experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or related trades and be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in producing quality results, and have experience using tools, measuring equipment, and light welding equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and repair storage containers according to company standards.
- Read and accurately use a tape measure and perform necessary calculations.
- Follow repair work instructions and document completed repairs.
- Perform light welding tasks, including tie-down brackets and door tracks.
- Complete basic cutting operations using oxy-fuel equipment.
- Inspect containers for damage and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
- Work safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and forklifts (training provided).
- Pressure wash containers using approved equipment and cleaning products.
- Complete repair order documentation and inventory tracking forms.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and training programs.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures.
- 2-4 years of experience in: general construction, assembly/manufacturing, steel fabrication, mechanical repair, related trades.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow written instructions.
- Experience using construction and fabrication tools preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Warehouse and production setting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures throughout the year.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Overtime may be required based on project needs.
- Light welding experience.
- Forklift experience.
- Construction or manufacturing background.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- 7-Year Criminal Background Check
