Job Summary:

The Master Scheduler will be responsible for setting, and managing the schedule for the production environment consisting of multiple production lines in a multiple shift environment ensuring that the Plan is executed in a manner balancing production/planning parameters, service, safety, inventory and costs.

The role reports to the Director of Supply Chain and Master Data Management. This role interacts regularly with Sales, Client Services, Production Managers, Machine operators, Engineers and Quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning/scheduling team with monitoring production execution and maintaining forecast and inventory levels for a variety of finished goods.
  • Develop and set the Master Production Schedule (MPS). Establish ship and production completion dates by balancing capacity and labor availability through collaboration with operations.
  • Create and deploy tactical scheduling plan for use by department production schedulers. Provide feedback to production schedulers and material planners on changes as needed.
  • Analyze MPS requirements versus capacity and identify potential bottlenecks and overloads.
  • Work closely with Regional Production Planning to support inter-company load balancing as required.
  • Research variance between sales forecast and material plan forecast against actuals.
  • Collaborate across multiple business units (Product Development, R&D, Finance, Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Engineering to obtain the best manufacturing strategy to meet customer demand and company targets.
  • Create and maintain production and scheduling KPIs and dashboards to support operations planning, production execution and schedule attainment.
  • Establish & maintain metrics and dashboards against forecasting, capacity planning and inventory models.
  • Ensure MRP accuracy in ERP and partner with production schedulers to correct discrepancies.
  • Monitor and request updates to material master attributes in ERP which impact MRP calculations.
  • Support, resolve and troubleshoot ERP application (MRP/MPS) issues.
  • Regularly monitor multi-level component inventory levels and aging inventory to optimize average inventory and identify potential excess and obsolescence through coordination with the planners/schedulers.
  • Coordinate inventory concerns with organization and support monthly excess & obsolete inventory review with executive management.
  • Support, develop and execute forecast management and long-range capacity planning within Order Backlog Tool. Partner with development teams on updates and changes as needed.
  • Key contributor to S&OP process - by providing reports, data extracts and analysis.
  • Support and coordinate the transition from S&OP to the production master schedule.
  • Manage and support the Product life-cycle and End of Life (EOL) process.
  • Engage IT support for future business enhancements within our applications. Identify gaps and propose changes that will improve MPS.
  • Data mine and format information from multiple software applications.
  • Provide updates to Client Services on the production schedule and identify issues or delays that require customer notification.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a supply chain and manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of SAP experience and usage within past 10 years
  • Capacity planning experience in a constrained, manufacturing environment
  • Experience with scheduling software tools or applications.
  • Understanding of material forecasts and inventory management, preferably in a Made-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, Macros). Experience in data-modeling and dashboards is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage multiple objectives and priorities concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • APICS certification is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 and is eligible for an annual bonus.
