Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in the SOPs and follow SOPs for medical emergencies; develop Center Physician's standing orders and arrange donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or a graduate certificate from an accredited nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification for responsibilities location: EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation and BenefitsU.S. hourly wage range: $25.20 – $34.65.
The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
