The Nurse Educator for Surgical Services is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering clinical education and training programs for perioperative staff. This role supports competency validation, onboarding, continuing education, and evidence-based practice initiatives to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The educator collaborates with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, implement best practices, and promote professional development within surgical services.

This position supports both Bolingbrook and Glen Oaks, with responsibilities spanning the OR, Same Day Surgery, and PACU.

• Effective professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the American Nurses Association (ANA)/Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development.
• Working knowledge of word processing, data management, email, and presentation applications.
• Self-directed, creative, and demonstrates initiative to support the seven roles of the NPD practitioner: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, OSHA) for professional specialty served.

Associate's of Nursing

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• 0+ years of leadership experience.

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
• Nursing Professional Development - Board Certified (NPD-BC) (preferred)
