Position Details

Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 (based on experience and expertise).

Position:
Registered Nurse, Surgical Oncology

Locations:
Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Center for Health, Naperville and Elmhurst, IL

Schedule:

Full Time | 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm (no weekends or holidays).

Responsibilities
  • Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate patients’ progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revising diagnoses, interventions, and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provide patient assessment and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Communicate the plan of care to patients and families regularly, respecting their perceptions of health and illness and engaging in mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate patient data to physicians and interdisciplinary team members as indicated to meet patient care needs.
  • Document patient health data, interventions, and communications.
  • Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessments to meet specific learning needs; assess cultural background, learning style, and barriers, and modify teaching plans accordingly.
  • Provide teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care, and drug information when appropriate.
  • Identify community resources to support patient self‑management of disease.
  • Interact with and contribute to professional development of peers, students, and other healthcare providers.
  • Share knowledge, provide feedback, and foster an environment supportive of clinical education.
  • Assign or delegate tasks as needed.
  • Provide psychological support to nurture a compassionate environment.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Associate’s in Nursing (required);
    Bachelor’s in Nursing (preferred).
  • Licensure:
    Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure (required).
  • Certification:
    Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association (required).
