Overview
Quality Technician — We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking quality technician with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our products to ensure they meet required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
To ensure success, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A top-class quality technician can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses of raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods, ensuring they meet necessary specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to verify product conformance.
- Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests are performed according to item specifications, protocols, and standard test methods.
- Interpret test results and compare them to specifications and control limits, providing recommendations on data interpretation.
- Complete documentation necessary for testing procedures, including inventory forms, data capture forms and equipment logbooks.
- Document and report inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances. Perform daily NCR cart audits to ensure non-conforming materials are identified, documented, and segregated.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated, validated, and maintained properly and ensure safety during operation of equipment.
- Perform routine checks throughout the day to monitor processing, packaging, formulation, and sanitation. Work with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assess analytical and testing methods to determine areas for future improvement.
- Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor/QE.
Qualifications
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possesses 5 years of progressive experience in quality control and inspection or an equivalent technical degree and work experience
- Has a 2- or 4-year technical degree (preferred)
- Holds quality certifications (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical abilities with good attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working with quality management systems
- Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
